How does "Overall Stat Test of Averages" works?

Hi there,
When I compute a crosstab, the "Overall Stat Test of Averages" gives me a p-value and tells about the relationship between two variables. Since I am not familiar with this value, I decided to check this again in SPSS to find out more. However, after I tried one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA using the exactly same dataset, I found that the result p-value are both different from the one I got from crosstab page.
My questions therefore:

  1. Is the "Overall Stat Test of Averages" same as one-way ANOVA or two-way ANOVA?

  2. Is there any difference between your "Overall Stat Test of Averages" and ANOVA we usually use in SPSS?

Thanks for your replies!
