Advanced loop & merge from a matrix

MadeleineHummer Dallas, TexasCommunity Member, Qualtrics Brand Admin Qubie ✭

So I took a 4-5 year break from Qualtrics and now I am very rusty.... I have a 5-point matrix scale (strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree, and strongly agree). I want to loop & merge from BOTH "strongly disagree" and "disagree" but only use one follow-up question. Qualtrics support just told me this isn't possible that if you want a Looped question for both "Disagree" and "Strongly Disagree" options I will need to have two questions.

Has anyone else learned how to program this workaround?!?! I use to program this type of question all the time so it is super frustrating I can't remember how :(

Are you just trying to ask that follow-up question if they say "strongly disagree" or "disagree"? In that case, I'd suggest using display logic.

If that's not what you meant, can you post an example?

Could you not just create embedded data for each of your matrix rows where you make both Disagree/Strongly Disagree equal to the same value, and then use the embedded data field(s) for your Loop?
