Update to Embedded Data Handling in Website Feedback

What is the change?
Qualtrics is updating our Website Feedback capabilities to enable embedded data to be captured and sent to the Qualtrics XM platform without being stored in the visible survey URL. The embedded data will now be passed to the survey in the request body (POST method).
This has a couple of benefits:
1. Removes the limit on the amount of embedded data that can be captured and sent to surveys from websites.
2. Eliminates the visibility of the embedded data within survey URLs (as query strings).
After this change is made, your intercepts, surveys, reports and dashboards will continue functioning as before, with no additional action required.
*Note: This update will have no impact on the way embedded data is currently used in the survey flow.
What action do I need to take?
We expect this change to be completely transparent to your usage of Website feedback intercepts, and you will not need to take any action or change any configuration. You will still be able to pass embedded data values from the intercept to the survey flow of your surveys. Once this change is implemented, the parameters will be passed in the POST body instead of the query params, but the survey flow will still be able to pick them up.
However, in the very unlikely event that your workflow (intercept targeting, embedded data capture, or survey flow) depends on the examining the survey URL dynamically to read embedded data values, you will need to make updates in order to use the out of box capabilities of working with embedded data. If you think that this applies to you, please reach out to your Customer Success Representative.

This change will be implemented starting on May 26th and all organizations will be updated by June 9th. After the change, embedded data values will no longer be visible in the survey URLs.

The referenced support page: Embedded Data in Website Feedback (qualtrics.com) still makes reference to URL parameters being used to pass Embedded data, so what exactly has changed here?

Hi prupert, thanks for reaching out!
Once this is implemented, starting on May 22, 2021, the support page will be updated accordingly.
Otherwise, there's no additional action needed on your part! Surveys, intercepts, reports, and dashboards will continue to function as they were before.

I think I understand this change and that it shouldn't affect our experience with embedded data being passed through to the overall database that is collected. Will it still be the case that embedded data is based on the site cookie (as long as the respondent has cookies enabled on their browser)?
