DXA best practices | XM Community

Hello community,

I’m curious to see if some people have experienced DXA and have best practices to share or common errors to avoid as I’m in the early stages with this feature. Thank you for sharing your knowledge to the community.

Hi,

The first and most important step is to identify the current digital goals and objectives for yourself or your company.

Some of the best practices to implement DXA are as follows:

  1. Ensure that the Digital Assist (DXA) snippet is included in the HTML code of the pages where you want to enable DXA functionality and begin recording session replays.
  2. Have knowledge about page groups and how to use it:
    1. Page Groups: Page groups are optional but strongly encouraged. Without page groups the Session Replay insights are very limited. Half of the dashboard widgets are dependent on page groups. Strongly encourage clients to configure some page groups, even if it’s only a few.
  3. Masking: If the client has sensitive website data that should be masked, ensure the
correct CSS selectors are selected and / or the checkbox to mask all input field data is
selected. The checkbox is leveraged to mask all input fields and will be selected by
default. CSS selectors must be specified to mask read only fields. Customers should
consult with their legal team to determine the amount of PII masking that is required.
Reference the Qualtrics Support Page for more information.

Once we have configured DXA and provided users access to Digital Assist, we should start creating funnels and heat maps in Digital Assist.

Once we know our digital goals and objectives we can start creating funnels in Digital Assist and start make data driven decisions.
