Limit countdown timer to active window?

Howdy, I am trying to make sure a participant watches a video embedded in my survey. I have set it up so that the advance button only appears after X+3 seconds where X is the duration of the video, but I realized that there is nothing preventing a user from visiting another tab, or if on mobile, opening another app and entirely disregarding the video--i.e. if they arrive at the question with the video, open up instagram for at least X+3 seconds, and then return to the survey, they can advance… is there any way to make sure the qualtrics timers only “advance” if the tab or survey window is active?Many thanks in advance!

Set of a multiple choice question with text both before and after the option choices

I need to creat a multiple choice question where I have text both before the 4 choices are presented and after them, below.  It should appear as it does in the screenshot but without using an additional Text / Graphic box. I want all text to be in the same box, else, the text after the 4 choices will be too far away and this could create confusion. I know Qualtrics does not accomodate for this setting so I was wondering if anybody could help me with a custom code to do that. Thanks! :)

Creating workflow or automation to generate a full data export.

HiI would like to create workflow or automation to generate a full data export.When we create an automation as explained here: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/actions-page/etl-workflows/data-extractor-tasks/extract-responses-from-a-survey-task/Only responses collected since the last run are extracted in this task.I want the entire responses to be exported every day (even if no one answered).is this possible?we had this question before but no one answerd:

Eventsubscription surveyengine.completedResponse.{SurveyID} returning Status = 'Full'

On Tuesday, 9th September, we discovered that the Webhook / Event Subscription surveyengine.completedResponse.{SurveyID} stopped sending Status = ’Complete’ to our endpoint, which caused the related part of our application from working roughly ~70-80% of the time. About the Status parameter, the document claims this: The status will always be Complete if successful https://api.qualtrics.com/66b2ec694d5c2-webhooks Instead, the POST call to our endpoint receives Status = ’Full’ most of the time. There is no mention of a change in behaviour in any documentation that we can find, nor is there any reference of a string ‘Full’ in any of the documentation that we can find. Is this a recent change, or a bug?If it is a change:What exactly does the Status = ’Full’ mean? When will that be sent instead of ’Complete’? Are there other Statuses that could also be sent, and under which circumstances? We can replicate this simply by taking a survey. Showing text when hovering over survey menu items

Hi everyone.I think it would be useful for the item name to appear when hovering over left-hand side logos of the Survey tab (e.g. Survey flow, look and feel, options). Reason is the logos aren’t super exclusive, and it takes some back and worth. Even for an advanced user, the logos aren’t immediately clear, so it’s just easier to show text while hovering so user can click on the intended menu item. This is of benefit for on-boarding new users as well.Thanks for considering, Qualtrics.

Autofocus a text box field

I thought I would share this since I needed it for a survey. My use-case involves scanning barcodes to verify the values meet certain conditions. I want my users to simply load the survey and begin scanning barcodes and not have to manually select the text field with their cursor each time they need to scan a barcode.So if you have a text field that you want the user cursor auto focused on when the question loads (to save the user from needing to manually select it to begin typing or entering text), you can use the following javascript within your question. Next button appears differently live compared to previews

Help! We’ve recently updated to the ‘New Survey Taking Experience’, which has automatically changed the “next” button to say “next page”. I’ve updated the next button in the look and feel, as well as each survey page settings, and in all previews it appears the way we want it to (just a > ), however in the live survey it appears with “Next page” text. Am I missing something?

How are you using XM Directory for community engagement?

Hello community! I wanted to reach out to look for any suggestions on how you all might be using/solving for a problem. We are currently looking to build an opt-in style customer research community - A group of customers that sign up to be willingly engaged often for feedback (surveys, requests for 1:1 deep dives, etc.). The XM Directory has a great capability of segmenting and profiling customers so that we reach out only to customers on topics that are relevant to them. Admittedly, what is missing is the ability to have a "platform" so to speak that creates engagement from the customer community. Something along the lines of a place where this community of customers can go to see what all is available to respond to, or a way for us to communicate back with them what we are learning/doing with their feedback, something that could be gamified, etc. (beyond just a newsletter email back to them).Are any of you doing something like this? Inline Question Displays Unpublished Changes

We are testing changes to a live survey program that impact the inline survey question text, answer choices, and translations. We have not published the changes to the survey and did not plan to publish them to production until testing was complete. We now see that the unpublished changes have actually been displaying within the inline question in the email sent to live/production recipients. The piped text for the inline question text and answer choices display the unpublished labels that we do not want displayed until the changes have completed the testing phase. This includes changes to survey translations as well that were not published. When the inline question answer choice is clicked, the survey opens and correctly displays the published version of the survey. See the documentation for inline questions here, where I do not see it documented that inline questions display unpublished survey changes: Email Survey Invitations Is this expected behavior? How to calculate birth year based on age from a survey question

Hi Qualtrics team,I have a survey where respondents are directly asked for their age (e.g., via a numeric entry question). I’d like to automatically calculate their year of birth based on the age they provide and store it in an Embedded Data field.For example, if a respondent enters “30” and the current year is 2025, I’d like the survey to store 1995 as their year of birth.Could someone guide me on: How to set up the calculation using Survey Flow and Embedded Data? Whether I need to use JavaScript within the question, or if this can be done directly via Piped Text and math operations in Qualtrics? How to ensure the calculation updates automatically depending on the current year? I think it can be very useful to create gruoups such as Gen Z, Millenials, etc...Thanks in advance for your help!

File Upload - Piped Text (Image)

Hi EveryoneIn a file upload question, I ask a respondent to upload an image.This triggers a workflow email, that I pipe the image URL into.This works, but when clicked, you need to log into Qualtrics to download the image.How can I achieve this, but without logging into Qualtrics, as the recipient of the email does not have Qualtrics access.Thanks :)

Access Denied- Help please!

Workflow to share dashboard to slack

I’d like to send a link to a dashboard to a slack channel weekly to bring greater visibility to the data but the workflow builder is failing me.Although in the setting for my dashboard under tools it has a section on workflows, when I go to draft the message and pipe in text the text field is blank and does not show me options for data I can put in. I’ve set up other slack workflows and they do have contents there.I’m pretty sure this is a bug?! Am I missing something?

Is there a global default for simple tables in results or reports

I am interested in setting a global default setting for creating results or reports such that the default is not a chart, but a simple table. I can do this by selecting each question and setting it up, but my survey has about 100 questions. The AI bot for Qualtrics support leads me to believe there is a way to do this. However, customer support at Qualtrics says this is not possible and that the default will always be a chart. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Best, Karen

JS code to calc data (number of days) difference sometimes blank

Hi All,  (sorry title should have read ‘JS code to calc number of days between two dates but sometimes blank’)I am seeing some intermittent issues in calculating the difference between two dates using some JS code in a question that is shown at the beginning of my survey. Below is a pic of some example data showing the issue:  Both the Contact_DIR_Default_Prophet_Segment_Lastmodified and TodayDate embedded fields are being populated ok but sometimes the Days_Since_Prophet_Updated field is not being calculated. I’m aware that often if JS code fails for one reason or another it can return just a blank / null value and so I’m wondering if there is a way I can capture an error code if it fails to understand why.  Is that possible? I’ve manually tested the dates that didn’t work above (console window of my chrome browser) that didn’t show a figure and they work fine. Below is my setup in order of sequence: Survey flow: TodayDate is populated and Days_Since_Prophet_Update field created   Sur

Survey distribution automation workflow

Hello :)I want to daily import contacts via an SFTP server and send a survey via email to all newly added or updated contacts with certain embedded data criteria from the most recent import.I’ve tried to set everything up in Workflows, but I end up with the workflow sending the survey either to everyone that is in the respective list where the contact are added to (send survey to: list) or noone (send survey to: T-ID 5).Independently of the outcome the run history of the workflow tells me that everything went as expected, e.g. in thi sexample no mail has been sent (can also be seen in contact history and survey distribution tab: What am I doing wrong?Looking forwward to your help,Sophie

Errors in react-native-qualtrics under the new react-native architecture

Hey, we just upgraded to react-native 76 and enabled the new architecture under iOS, but when compiling, we have an error with the react-native-qualtrics pod.Can the below be fixed so we can use Qualtrics with the new rn architecture under iOS? Thanks!

Error "Could not find a declaration file for module 'react-native-qualtrics'" starting on 2.6.0

Hey, I just update ‘react-native-qualtrics’ from 2.5.0 to 2.8.0 and starting to get the error:Could not find a declaration file for module 'react-native-qualtrics'. 'PATH_MASKED/node_modules/react-native-qualtrics/lib/commonjs/index.js' implicitly has an 'any' type.  Try `npm i --save-dev @types/react-native-qualtrics` if it exists or add a new declaration (.d.ts) file containing `declare module 'react-native-qualtrics';` After some digging, it started in 2.6.0 since the folder structure under typescript has changed.With 2.5.0 in our node_module, react-native-qualtrics was having:typescript/      index.d.ts       index.d.ts.map       NativeRNQ...csDigital.d.ts       NativeRNQ...ital.d.ts.map But starting from 2.6.0 , I seetypescript/      lib/      scripts/      src/           index.d.ts           index.d.ts.map           NativeRNQ...csDigital.d.ts           NativeRNQ...ital.d.ts.map           Can this be fixed please?
