Hi,
I would like to ask on how to create a "side by side" question in Qualtrics.
I attach the screenshot of my question.
!
I want to know if I can change the "column" into the "row".
The reason is that I want the "row" as a "clustered" and the "column" as a "sentence"
Can I do that using Qualtrics?
Thank you,
Best Regards,
Sherly

Yes, so basically I want to develop a question like this:
At the row:
1. Communication skill
a. Level 1
b. Level 2
c. Level 3
2. Training skill
a. Level 1
b. Level 2
c. Level 3
At the column in each level, there will be some statements. The participants then choose in each level the statements in the column.
Is that clear enough?
I can do this by using "side by side" type. But, in that type, the clustered is in the column, while I want the clustered to be in the row.
Thank you so much,

Sherly

I would suggest you to do a grid question (matrix)
In rows you add group header say communication skills and under this group header add your levels. So communication skill will appear as header only. Add levels and assign them to your group header.
In columns write your statements.
If it is multi select per row than make this matrix as multiple select.
I hope this is clear.

Hi Bansalpeeyush29,
Thank you for your reply.
I have two questions about this.
1. How I do a grid question? I just have these options below (see attached) for question type and there is no option on grid question.
2. How I put it as a header?
!
Thank you very much,

1) choose matrix question.
2) in row first add levels and when you click on say level 1 it will show option assign to group there add header say communication levels and then assign level 2 and 3 also to this group .

Hi Bansalpeeyush29,
Thank you for your reply.
I can do that now.!
However, I have another question.
Can I manage it to be like this?

Oh you want respondent to select levels also. you have to make side by side like below:-
!
!
I understand the one that you show to me.
But, what I want is the level within the cluster (such as communication skill, and the row below the heading (communication skill) is the levels --> They can choose the levels), and statements as the"column". (same as the screenshot that I attached above). Can I do this?

i dont think so it is possible to program as similar as your screenshot using side by side or any other question type.
Oh ok. Thank you very much for your help.
