Adding forced Sequence to Matrix Table

Hello everyone I am new to Qualtrics and coding associated to it. I have made a game on Qualtrics in which participants are required to drag and drop items into the correct color box. They are given directions in a separate document.
I want to "force" the participants to drag and drop items in a sequence that is presented to them. For example, I want participant to first drag and drop "02881-e" and then "20740". I do not want them to jump to other items while skipping the ones in between.
Please guide how this could be done. I am attaching the screenshot of the question for better understanding.

Is there a reason it has to be presented as a drag and drop?
I am thinking that you could as easily use one of the following approaches:

Matrix question, presented in Carousel format, so that each item is presented in order (layout will be vertical vs horizontal)

Separate multiple choice questions, with page breaks between questions, so that each item is presented in order (can be laid out vertically or horizontally)
