I am trying to apply advanced survey logic (identifying the max score for a multi-select question and applying custom weighting in order to calculate the weighted average). I tried using embedded data fields within Survey Flow by using piped text to pull the recode values of each selected choice, and then using math operations to determine the maximum and apply weighting. The formula is however not working for me. Not sure if this is the best approach/right approach/i have something wrong with the formula/if this is even something that can be done within Qualtrics?   Providing an example of one of the formulas I tried to enter in an embedded data field:$e{max (${q://QID27/SelectedChoicesRecode}) * 30}

I want to pipe the selection from a standard likert scale question like the one below into a follow-up open ended question.Very unlikely Somewhat unlikely Neither likely nor unlikely Somewhat likely Very likelyI want to change the first letter of the piped selection so that it is lower case.The piping instruction I currently have in the open ended question is:Why are you ${q://QID26/ChoiceGroup/SelectedChoices} to consider using... I tried using the tips noted in the thread below but it isn’t working for me. 

HI All, Following the migration from the old world of Directory > automations (where I used an SFTP process to import a file of contacts and distribute a survey).  The screens / reports I get / can see no longer provide the number of lines imported and the number of surveys sent.  Is this something I can get to using piped text or something in the flow?  I used to review the reports for both import and distribution pages and from that I could easily see if the values matches or (on some occasions) were massively different (we have had three occasions this year now where double the number of surveys have been sent due to issues with Qualtrics’ internal systems repeating the send process for some unknown reason!). Any thoughts or suggestions (piped text / undisclosed embedded fields / API calls or a code task that could loop through and count even!) would be most helpful Thanks Rod Pestell  

Hi all! Does anyone have JavaScript for a pop-up message that displays if a respondent enters a number above a certain threshold that I consider unrealistically high? I want it to prompt them to double-check their entry before continuing, but I don’t want it to force them to change their answer. Context: I have a constant-sum question asking respondents to enter annual spend in millions. Some respondents overlook the “in millions” part and enter values like 1,000,000 instead of 1. Other times, someone enters a number that feels extremely large, and we usually need to follow up and confirm it wasn’t a typo. It would be a huuuge time-saver to simply build a typo-check directly into the question. I’d like the pop-up to appear if someone enters a number ≥500. It should only prevent them from continuing the first time it appears (i.e., after they’ve seen the pop-up, they are allowed to proceed regardless of whether they’ve changed their answer). Has anyone implemented something like this? Hello!I’m creating a survey with 41 questions in total. I plan for there to be 40 content questions with 1 attention check. I want the 40 questions to be presented in a randomized order to each participant, but I want the attention check to always be in a fixed spot near the end. How would I do this while ensuring there are no repeat questions? Thank you!

It appears Qualtrics has included it’s own Calendar Question Type. Yay!However, it looks like it also includes a time-interval formatting feature where people HAVE to pick a time. Currently there is not an option to exclude this.I contacted Support and they said maybe there is someone in the community that can recommend code to get rid of it.Would love some help. Thank you!

My answer option text is wrapping in my carousel question. There is a screenshot below. I tried referring to the post below to fix it but have not had any success.  How do I expend the answer option boxes so that this doesn’t happen?  

I am cross-posting here what I found in the Developer Section under a title that is less technical than what I stumbled upon. My team was designing a survey and the questions in tables were showing a scroll bar across the bottom. We tried searching under Margins without success because the changes these answers were suggesting were not fixing the key problem. I tried a search using table width in my question and came upon a thread using the phrase Matrix tables. In there, I found the Custom CSS code that will let you change the amount of space your table uses on your survey page. Default is 750px. To use more space on the page, go into Look and Feel in your survey and copy/paste the following into the Custom CSS section: .Skin .QuestionOuter.Matrix{max-width:1000px} Obviously, you can change the 1000px to any number you wish. Has anyone done a slider or something similar to a tachometer in an EX project ( Engagement for example ). I assume the only option would be using Javascript, but I am having some troubles with getting it to work properly. Any input is appreciated!

Hi!I’m working with a block with 7 drill down questions with 3 groups (each one uses the same hierarchy of choices). I need apply validation to the responses in order to avoid duplicates in the set of responses from the 7 questions within the block.Any ideas to achieve this?

In the Data & Analysis tab, you can export a single response to a PDF. Is there a way to export all responses to PDF instead of going through each one individually and saving and/or printing?

And I was able to create individual links to the PDF using the link format mentioned in the above thread. However it requires login into Qualtrics when opening the link in a browser, so it might need an active session and cookies? I have tried using Requests package to post my credentials, but the response I got is still an HTML page instead of PDF. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

Currently there is "Survey completion" displayed. In German "Umfragenfortschritt". Can I change this text?

I need to creat a multiple choice question where I have text both before the 4 choices are presented and after them, below.  It should appear as it does in the screenshot but without using an additional Text / Graphic box. I want all text to be in the same box, else, the text after the 4 choices will be too far away and this could create confusion. I know Qualtrics does not accomodate for this setting so I was wondering if anybody could help me with a custom code to do that. Thanks! :) 

I thought I would share this since I needed it for a survey. My use-case involves scanning barcodes to verify the values meet certain conditions. I want my users to simply load the survey and begin scanning barcodes and not have to manually select the text field with their cursor each time they need to scan a barcode.So if you have a text field that you want the user cursor auto focused on when the question loads (to save the user from needing to manually select it to begin typing or entering text), you can use the following javascript within your question. Hey, I just update ‘react-native-qualtrics’ from 2.5.0 to 2.8.0 and starting to get the error:Could not find a declaration file for module 'react-native-qualtrics'. Hi there! I’m trying to create a survey in which participants are able to move through various videos on the same page, viewing one, then picking another one, whilst being able to move on past the videos at any time. I was able to accomplish this with the HTML and JS outlined below. The issue I run into is collecting the embedded data. That is, I want to log what videos participants select, and how long they spent watching it. I’m pretty new to JavaScript, but I’m trying to add different static text to text boxes in a form field. The complication is that there’s display logic on the question.In the question before, the user selects what items they’ve received. Then, in the relevant question they’ll input how many of each they received. Some of the choices need units behind them. Here’s a simple example: I found answers for if there isn’t display logic, it’s pretty straight forward, like this example:  My problem is, that only works if they select every option from the question above. Otherwise the units appear nonsensically. With the display logic, I can’t reference the choice box by location in the list. I have a pick, group, and rank question with 32 items, set to display stacked so as not to overwhelm the survey-taker. I would like to have a counter on the page that indicates how many items are remaining in the stack (they must rank all items). There are two groups the items can be ranked into. I haven’t found much information on the forums about using JS with pick, group, and rank questions, so I’m a little lost.
