Hi, I am building a survey but want it to have a screening procedure which Qualtrics can automatically screen out those who are not eligible. The screening includes 21 multiple choice questions, with 4 possible responses for each question, marked 0 - 3 (one answer allowed only for each question). The highest total possible score is 63, and only those who score 14 or higher are eligible. 

Is there a way that Qualtrics can sum the total of all answers to all 21 questions and screen out those who scores 13 or less?

We were planning to do this manually, by having two separate surveys, but are concerned about attrition rates. It would be great if within one survey Qualtrics can screen out the ineligible, but let the eligible one carry on automatically.

Perhaps you can try to use the scoring feature in survey options within Qualtrics.

Then, add a branch logic in survey flow with condition of scoring <=13, leading to a customised end of survey element with screen out enabled.

You can set the math operation in the embedded data. Place your screening conditions next to actual block.

Unfortunately I am a Qualtrics novice, so cannot get either of these to work. Is it possible to explain in a bit more detail. I have tried to set a branch to screen out those with a score of 13 or less, however on previewing the survey, it still lets everyone through to the survey block 1.

After block 3, create an embedded variable to store the Block 3 scores. To store the block 3 values, you need to use math operations.

Once you set the embedded variable, you can use this variable to screen out.
