How to make two choices incompatible in a multiple choices question with multiple answers allowed | XM Community
Skip to main content

Hello everybody!
I am new to Qualtrics and I was wondering if there is any way to display an error when someone chooses two answers that are incompatible in a multiple answers question. i.e.
Do you own a computer?

  1. No

  2. Yes, shared with siblings

  3. Yes, shared with parents

I want for responders to be able to choose "No" only if they did not select anything else, otherwise they get a message like "Your choices are incompatible, please correct"
Hope this was clear enough
Thank you in advance!

Make the 'No' answer exclusive by right clicking on it and choosing "Make Exclusive" on the menu. No need for an error message. If they click 'No' the other choices will be deselected and if they click one of the other answers 'No' will be deselected.
