I am trying to set up an experiment where participants are recalling as many words as possible and inputting what they remember into a text entry field. I want to set it up so that participants enter each word they know, and then automatically move on to a new text entry box to enter the next word, e.g. when they press the space bar or enter.
I am struggling to find the right display logic that would allow me to do this, does anyone have any advice?
I don't know any javascript so if anyone can provide advice on how to implement a script into this that would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
So, i think you may be able to use the display logic when set to "Is Not Empty" to accomplish this. It dragged a touch after my space bar (like 1 second or less) but did seem to work.
I think you would just need to setup a ton of text entry questions and sequentially add display logic to each of them referencing the item above it. The display logic does need to have in page turned on for this to work properly. Auto-advancing questions may or may not help as well. I don't think it was turned off in my test but I am not sure.
You could naturally get rid of the text by replacing it with a space if you just wanted boxes. Lastly, this type of setup will give you columns and columns of data, but i think you new that already.
Good luck!
Adam
