Matrix table question with 1) preset choices, 2) disabled choices

Hi All,
I have zero experience with java, so I'm sorry if that's a silly question.
I run an online experiment with three conditions that differ in one question (a list of several A/B choices). Some participants just answer it (select choices), some see the options, but should not be allowed to select anything, and some see the preselected choices like someone made their choices. I think I would use a matrix table format for this question.
I could probably use screenshots for those 'odd' conditions, but I'm afraid I'd look a bit different than a regular question (especially displayed on cellphones), and I'd like all conditions to look the same. So I'd gladly use javascript to disable / preset choices.
Could you help me out on this one? What would the script look like?
