I am using the offline survey app, and want to ensure that data collectors are using the correct version of the survey.
Is there a way to capture the version of the survey for each submission without having to create a new version variable each time a new iteration of the survey is published?

Hello kshea_uva
You can capture the SURVEY ID as it is by default metadata included in the survey flow which you can include and it will capture.
If you are asking that every published version has a different ID and you would like to capture that then unfortunately that would not be possible, having said that you can create this workflow (Survey Definition Events (qualtrics.com)) to track if someone has published any changes in the survey, by adding an email task to yourself below to it.
