Trigger email at survey initiation

Hello,
I am running two surveys at the same time, where if respondents in survey 1 meet certain criteria, they are invited to participate in survey 2. I am using an authenticator at the beginning of survey 2 to utilize known respondent metadata data.
What I would like to do is send an email to a survey 2 participant with their unique survey link after the first item is displayed. I would like them to have that link in case they need to come back to complete the survey. I already have the participant emails in the respondent metadata data.
I know I can do this when a response is submitted, but that's too late in the process. Basically, I want the email sent when the response is recorded as "in progress" in the data table.
Any guidance and direction will be greatly appreciated.
