Add count of responses where a text is not empty to a widget
Ok,
I have a table widget on a dashboard that shows the number of responses in each row and their share of the total responses. Now I would like to know the proportion or number of those who did not leave another text field blank. However, the only filter available to me is a keyword search. But that is not what I have, I am searching or filtering for "not empty".
Can anyone help me?

Hello, there! I would recommend trying out the Advanced Filter! In this example, I am saying to show me in the table if there are responses that don’t have a Last Name. You can do the same thing with a question field as well! Please let me know if this solves your issue and I hope you are having a great day!
Hello,
Thank you for the advice. The problem with the advanced filter is that it applies to the entire widget. I can't set it for only one of the metrics.
My example would be something like this with the last name:
Column 1: First name
Column 2: How often does the first name occur?
Column 3: How many times is the last name empty?
So it's a count twice, with another filter on the last name. However, I can only enter a keyword there as the only filter.
Does this help to understand my problem better?
Thank you for the additional context, this helps! You are right, the current functionality of filtering a specific metric does not allow for Advanced Filters. Could you instead try leveraging the Survey Flow and creating an Embedded Data field using the same Advanced Logic? For example, you could add this to the survey flow (preferably at the beginning or as soon as Qualtrics would be able to recognize the Last Name field)
Then, you could filter that individual metric by when Empty Last Name = Yes (you would need to enter in the keyword Yes, but it would work). However, this wouldn’t retroactively apply to prior responses, which is not ideal. You could then go to Data & Analysis and filter all prior recorded responses by empty last name, and either export the responses and quickly add that Embedded Data field to the results, and reimport the responses (after deleting the old ones), or you could manually add “Yes” to that embedded data field directly in Qualtrics’ Data & Analysis (hoping there’s not tons of responses yet).
In essence, this is the workaround I would utilize if you are wanting that metric to be in the same widget as the others with different filters. This will be nice for going forward, but there is some work involved to make it apply to past responses.
Please let me know if this is helpful or if you have any other questions. Thank you!
