Hi all,
I am trying to exclude unfinished surveys from my dashboard. I know I can add a filter in using "finished=TRUE", but the issue I see is that any weighting I apply to the dataset, applied to the FULL dataset, not the filtered set.
I then tried selecting "exclude from analysis" for FINSHED=FALSE in the dashboard settings - but I'm still getting unfinished surveys flow through.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Mike.
MikeBot Are you looking to exclude unfished responses from your entire dashboard? If so, you could go the Data & Analysis tab of your survey and delete all unfinished responses. I would then go to Survey Options and change the settings to "Delete" all unfinished responses rather than "Record."
I'm really curious what the best practices are here...we still consider unfinished responses valid responses, especially if they answer our key metric.
MikeBot - I didn't know there was an option in dashboard settings to exclude unfinished responses. I've looked for it and can't find it on my platform (could you share where that is?). Could it be that the dash needs to reindex after this setting is applied to ensure all unfinished responses are excluded??
Other than that, if you don't want to delete all unfinished from your data set, you might need custom metrics for this, though that would be a huge lift if you need it applied on the full page. I wonder if you could do an advanced filter on each widget? Still a large lift, but not as much as with the custom metrics.
Thanks jmborzick and CMurph !
Absolutely valid options in terms of deleting the unfinished records - and also completely valid re: considering them valid for key metrics!
CMurph , the area I was referring to is just in the dashboard settings, where you can set a group to "exclude from analysis" - but I'm not sure it's doing what I hoped!
