How to renumber the inner options of a survey question? | XM Community
Skip to main content

When I use the auto-number questions option, it correctly numbers the questions, but the individual option numbers of the questions are unchanged. This makes them show up incorrectly in the CSV data when I download it. Is there any way to change these inner option numbers of the questions?

Recode the questions. See: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/question-options/recode-values/

I tried resetting the recode values from the tools menu, but it didn't change anything. I'm using slider style questions with multiple sliders in each question block, so when I click on a question I don't even get the option to recode values in the question behaviour menu. Is there any other way of recoding values with the matrix style questions?

I am not sure the settings of your slider. What you are getting in your data file. What you are hoping to get in your data file. And if you are talking about pre-recorded data (e.g. finding the data error after collecting all of your responses) or test data. But I suggest you read up on the slider support page and see if that can help you get the result you want in your data file:

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/55843#Comment_55843Sliders record numeric values so that is why there aren't recodes.
If you are referring the the choice ids assigned to each row, those are done automatically by Qualtrics and there isn't a way to change them.
For a matrix, you can recode the scale points. For the statements, you can override the default Question Export Tags.
