Trying to merge two similar multi answer questions in same survey into one widget

Hi there,
I have two multi answer questions in one survey (they both have the exact same options, they were just asked to different respondents based on branch logic) and I am trying to merge the information so I can show it in one widget but I seem not to be able to do that. Any suggestions, thanks

    Hi Vick ,

    You can create a custom variable in data and analysis by applying the filters of the two multi-select questions which you have in the survey. Then map this custom variable in the dashboard settings and later you use it in the widget.

    Could you please explain/show better how to do this, I have been trying to read up with the hyperlink you had put in but I'm not getting it.
