Topic: Custom Field Creation

When more information is needed after response collection has already begun, simply adding more questions won’t fix the issue, but adding custom fields will.

The custom field editor is an essential tool that allows you to append additional information to a response after its been collected. A bucketing field gives each response a value based on a categorical question or field, so responses can be categorized for reporting or filtering.

Values assigned with a bucketed variable will be applied to both collected and future data, making it an alternative to embedded data in situations where you need a variable to be added retroactively. Bucketing is only one of the four types of custom fields that can be used to categorize your data.

Step up your categorization game and learn about the rest of the custom field options today!

Where to find this feature:

  1. Navigate to the Data section of the Data & Analysis tab.
  2. Select the Field Editor.
  3. Select Create Field.
