Can I load participant specific survey data from a previous survey into a copied survey? | XM Community

I’ve the following situation:

  • We create surveys for specific participants in year X.
  • The participants fill their survey.
  • We copy the surveys.
  • Now we’d like to pre-fill survey answers based on the participant specific survey response before we activate the survey.

We’d like to use the survey platform only in the best case. Only if not possible we’d like to fallback to the QX API.

Can you please confirm, is it customer experience survey or Employee experience survey?

How can I figure out the survey type (customer experience or employee experience survey)?

Does importing response answers work with survey participant specific data as well (participant data scope)? Or is the import of data on the overall survey level (survey scope)?

you can create embedded field and upload the data of old participant along with survey responses. 

This loading of participant specific response answers via the QX UI is kind of annoying if you’ve a lot of surveys. Is there also some QX SDK/API available to automate this task?

Hi @thinwybk , please refer below link. There are import and export APIs in Qualtrics. Please read the documentation and try further.

According to https://api.qualtrics.com/206a07d54ca31-surveys-response-import-export-api seems like usually people upload survey data from some file (e.g. csv). I’m not sure if Insert Embedded Data Fields  https://api.qualtrics.com/4afe452ecb6e2-insert-embedded-data-fields would work instead for me as well.

You should try reach out to Qualtrics support team. Please clarify them requirement and reason. They will guide you and provide you proper solution.
