Qualtrics API

I have a form on a webpage that is pushing the multiple choice field selections to the Qualtrics survey correctly. For some reason I cannot get a Text Entry or Form Field where someone is going to input an email address to come through. Has anyone else been able to send text entry or form fields back to Qualtrics using their API?

Do API exports behave differently if a survey is actively collecting data during edits?

 I am writing to request assistance with a recurring issue I am experiencing when calling the Chat Completions API from within a Qualtrics survey. The endpoint works correctly when I use the “Test” function inside Qualtrics, but when I preview or run the actual survey, I consistently receive the following error:“The server had an error processing your request. Hello everyone,I’m working on a workflow that pulls a file from Qualtrics’ Automation File Service and passes it through Basic Transform before moving on to the next steps. When I run the call on my machine using the endpoint from the Qualtrics API documentation page, the workflow runs perfectly with no issues. When the client makes the same call with the same file directly from Databricks, we keep getting the following error:TRF_1 - Record 1 has no field brand! Please ensure your source file has the header brand. Funny fact: the file does have the brand header. 🥲 Has anyone experienced this or have any insights that could help?

Hi All, I have setup a script which exports survey data in order to do a full search as apposed to the data privacy tool that Qualtrics offers (but doesn’t work properly!  but that’s another story!).  My script works through the report of surveys using my credentials and API token but for the ones I don’t have access to I switch to the owners API token I have saved elsewhere.  The problem occurs though in that I get a 401 code when trying the export api command which means that user is unauthorised.  These users I’ve discovered have left and are set to disabled. So my solution was to change their status by the users API and then continue processing (using their API token instead of mine).  However, i was finding some odd results in that I was still getting the 401 code but then on other occasions i wasn’t.  After checking everything I discovered that the 401 goes away and you get the normal 200 status code after 60 seconds.  Without fail

I would like to create an automated daily export that includes responses in progress -- basically the same file that a user can get by manually downloading from the “Responses in Progress” section in the Data & Analysis tab. I’ve been experimenting with the “export-responses” endpoint, but have only been able to capture submitted responses. I’m new to the API though, and am not sure if I’m looking in the wrong place entirely. Can anyone point me in the right direction? 

I am using Question Export Tags for my matrix questions. I want to pull my survey schema for dashboard via API and have hard time accesssing this information and I need this because this is how columns in my data are named. In Question object → Subquestion variableName is blank.Is my only solution to drop this functionality and map variables between surveys manually?Has anyone figured it out?

I'm using two calls https://iad1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/distributions/{}/history’ and https://iad1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/directories/POOL_XXXXX/contacts/{} to create a CSV and get a complete distribution history of a survey (personal links + emails + anonymous links), but I run into timeout errors when doing this via async calls. The calls on their own work fine, but the asycnronous implemention seems to timeout. Are there any asynchronous examples available?

I'm following this guide on implementing OAuth2: https://api.qualtrics.com/instructions/docs/Instructions/Quick%20Start/getting-more-secure-with-oauth.md Everything is fine so far, but the docs do not mention how to refresh the token after expiry - what is the endpoint to call and what are the parameters? Usually I'd expect a call to oauth/token?refresh_token=...&grant_type=refresh but it's not mentioned anywhere.

I have exported my survey responses as a CSV file because I wanted to update few responses that is why I also exported the response ID’s . Now I made the updates to the responses in the CSV file in excel and I want to import them using API (there are more than 1 Lakh responses).The CSV file is present in my downloads folder. I want to use import API to import the responses, I went through the support docs but still cannot understand how to use it.We can do it either using python or postman. Can anyone please provIde me the python script required to import the responses? If not the python code I would appreciate some detailed step by step guidance as to how to do it in postman. 

We have some requirement to export a survey response with all answers given from an external system. I see that there is some solution for that on the UI (Data & Analysis - Actions - Export to PDF): However, we need to export responses from an external system and thus need some corresponding API. I had a look on the API reference and found the "Surveys Response Import/Export API". Unfortunately, I think this does not help in our case since PDF is not available. Does anyone know if there is a API available for the "Export to PDF" functionality? Another option I was thinking about is to have some (public) available link per response which opens the survey with the responses in the browser. But I guess such a functionality is not available as well since the PDF is genera

I am looking to use Workday’s out-of-the-box functionality to send outbound files to external systems (Qualtrics), known as Outbound EIB. I’ve inserted a screenshot of the documentation below. In a QX survey we’ve set EmbeddedData to hardcoded value via the Survey Flow UI interface. In the HTML header we’ve included some JavaScript code and in questions we’ve included JavaScript code for trying to getting EmbeddedData into JS code business logic. I am looking to test an integration with Workday that relies on OAuth 2.0 authentication. I am currently trying to test this and by getting a set of access and refresh tokens. Can someone describe how I would get those tokens in a Qualtrics web service task? On Tuesday, 9th September, we discovered that the Webhook / Event Subscription surveyengine.completedResponse.{SurveyID} stopped sending Status = ’Complete’ to our endpoint, which caused the related part of our application from working roughly ~70-80% of the time. About the Status parameter, the document claims this: The status will always be Complete if successful https://api.qualtrics.com/66b2ec694d5c2-webhooks Instead, the POST call to our endpoint receives Status = ’Full’ most of the time. There is no mention of a change in behaviour in any documentation that we can find, nor is there any reference of a string ‘Full’ in any of the documentation that we can find

Hi All, We’ve received some incoming emails through a ticket that show up in the email history section.  Some parts need to be redacted or changed (or failing that the message removed from the email history thread) of the ticket.  Tickets I’m aware can be accessed to some degree via API but has anyone managed to work out if it’s possible (and how) to remove or redact part of a reply? The message contains sensitive information which needs to be removed and so rather than delete the whole ticket (which will cause issues with the guest being unable to reply to the same ticket thread), it would be good to know of an alternative way. Hope someone can advise or if anyone has already raised a product idea (I’ll then vote it up). Thanks Rod Pestell 

We have the quota set to one so no one can see the item in the survey while it is checked out so we need to get the quota back to 0 when the item comes back in.I get lost where they say that something needs to be object.  I don’t understand what they want for logic or ActionInfo, ActionLogic, or the QuotaStart, QuotaPeriodLength, QuotaNumPeriods, QuotaCountsHere is what I have so far…. 

When a survey does not complete due to a bad email address, we would like to send a email back to a manager to review and get the address corrected. Has anyone gotten this to be done automatically?

We are currently using .net and C# to read/write to this database but I don't see any options for that in the API documentation. The users would like these updates to happen real time but that may not be an option.

I want to connect Qualtrics to SQL such that I can pull all survey data per a schedule into my SQL database? I tried searching this string but the only relevant thread is on bringing SQL data into a Qualtrics survey and not the other way. many thanks!
