Update to a completed survey - workaround?? | XM Community

I feel like there might be a way to accomplish this but not sure so I was hoping the brilliant Qualtrics community might have an idea.
CURRENT PROCESS (Outside of Qualtrics): The business (15 different people) compiles the same information multiple times a day and sends an email to leadership utilizing a template that they have created. Yes, leadership gets multiple emails per day with the same topic of information, just unique data.
PROBLEM: The 15 different people are logging the emails sent and the information in the email in their own spreadsheet if/when they remember. This results in inaccurate/no reporting and inconsistent processes among those sending the emails and compiling the information. They need a consistent process and accurate reporting.
PROPOSED SOLUTION (Qualtrics Survey): The business completes a survey, an email (via workflow) is sent to leadership with specific information from the survey. They now have a consistent process and the ability to report accurately as needed.
OBSTACLE: In the current process, there are times when people will reply to the original email with an update to one of the fields in the original email.
QUESTION: How can I allow the business to "update" the original information and have the email sent to leadership identifying the update.
If they update the survey in Data & Analysis that is good for reporting but I am missing the email to leadership. On the flip side, while the person completing the survey gets the email, they can't reply all and provide an update because the email in the workflow doesn't show the recipients so they could miss people on the update (Not a fan of this option because then the data is not accurate).
Could I start the original survey with a question that asks if they are looking to update data or provide a new response? If they select update, link them to another survey that references the information they provided in the original survey and send the email to leadership when the new survey is completed?

You would need to use API and email triggers to get notified every time new update is being made via API. You can search about setting it up in Qualtrics support.
