Background: Following the helpful instructions in this post, I’ve embedded PDFs in my survey by uploading them to my library and referencing them using the HTML editor. I want to randomly show people one of several PDFs, so I put the file path in the loop and merge table, and set up my HTML code to reference the loop and merge field to get the path; something like this: src="${lm://Field/1}" This all works well. The issue that I am encountering is that I’d like to have several dozen possible PDFs that I can show respondents. Right now (for our smaller pilot version), I’m just going into the library and copying the URLs by hand and pasting them into the Loop and Merge table. When I have an order of magnitude more URLs to copy in, this will get less feasible. Does anyone have any ideas on ways to speed up this process? I’d ideally like some way to preserve the names of the PDFs that I upload into the URLs, so I can reference them more easily in the Loop and Merge table (my PDFs are name
Is there a limit to the survey size? My survey is currently 3.2MB, and when I attempt to preview the survey I get the error “Unable to load survey. This survey is too large.” I have no images, just many possible routes a respondent can take, each with a lot of blocks of text (respondents are reviewing textual answers).
I have two large surveys, each with dozens of blocks structured in several layers of survey flow. I need to combine them in a way where I’d really appreciate if I could copy large sections of one survey’s flow (not just blocks) and preserve the complicated branching.I know that I can copy a survey, so I’ve copied one of them to start as the jumping-off point, but I now need to bring in material from the second survey. Any tips? Is there any way I can copy groups?
I’m using a loop and merge table to show respondents different answers to questions for them to grade, many of which have many line breaks that I would like to preserve. In Excel, I have cells with answers like:“ Line 1 Line 2 Line 3”But when I past a cell like that from Excel into the loop and merge table, it splits over three rows in the table. I can remove all the line breaks in Excel, but I’d like to avoid doing that – having the formatting will make these answers a lot easier to read.If I replace new lines in Excel with \\n or something to that effect so I get each cell into one paragraph with no line breaks, is there someway I can use Javascript/HTML in Qualtrics to then re-split the paragraph from a given cell into multiple lines when I pipe the text in?
Hello,I have two surveys (A and B), each with a section of complicated survey flow (dozens of blocks, several layers of conditionals each). I want to combine particular sections of each of these surveys into one survey by randomly assigning participants to either a block of questions from survey A or a block of questions from survey B. Is there a way to copy in blocks of survey flow logic, or groups of questions, so I can just copy the relevant section from B into A? It would save a lot of time if I don’t have to manually redo the survey flow from the survey I’m copying in.
