CC another Qualtrics user for a ticket that is not assigned to them without creating a Ticket Team or Group

It is not possible to include additional department heads directly on a ticket when a customer complaint spans multiple departments. Creating a multi-department ticket team or group would only overload dashboards and add unnecessary clutter without improving resolution.A more effective approach would be to enable a ticket owner the ability to CC individuals. This would ensure the appropriate departments are notified of complaints that affect them, while the ticket owner remains accountable for resolution. Visibility through CC would support faster problem-solving and provide valuable insight for process improvements across the business.Let’s improve the current ticketing process with this option. I’m sure there are many incidents for other companies that could relate to this issue and are looking for ways to improve the current ticketing platform.

Storing embedded data separate to survey responses

Is it possible to store embedded data uploaded via a contact list separate to the respondent’s survey responses?I have a survey that we intend to distribute via a contact list uploaded to Qualtrics. In that contact list we will have several embedded data fields.Some of those embedded data fields are fine to be recorded with the respondent’s survey answers as they won’t allow the respondent to be identified. These are needed for piped text, survey branching in the survey flow, and to analyse survey results.Other embedded data fields are only needed to determine if our survey responses match our population. E.g., our population is made up of 33% males, 33% females, 33% other...do our survey respondents match this gender distribution?However, the second set of embedded data fields would mean we can identify the survey respondent and we want the survey to be anonymous.Is there a way to record the first set of embedded data fields with the survey responses, but not record the second set of

Limit countdown timer to active window?

Howdy, I am trying to make sure a participant watches a video embedded in my survey. I have set it up so that the advance button only appears after X+3 seconds where X is the duration of the video, but I realized that there is nothing preventing a user from visiting another tab, or if on mobile, opening another app and entirely disregarding the video--i.e. if they arrive at the question with the video, open up instagram for at least X+3 seconds, and then return to the survey, they can advance… is there any way to make sure the qualtrics timers only “advance” if the tab or survey window is active?Many thanks in advance!

Creating workflow or automation to generate a full data export.

HiI would like to create workflow or automation to generate a full data export.When we create an automation as explained here: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/actions-page/etl-workflows/data-extractor-tasks/extract-responses-from-a-survey-task/Only responses collected since the last run are extracted in this task.I want the entire responses to be exported every day (even if no one answered).is this possible?we had this question before but no one answerd:

Showing text when hovering over survey menu items

Hi everyone.I think it would be useful for the item name to appear when hovering over left-hand side logos of the Survey tab (e.g. Survey flow, look and feel, options). Reason is the logos aren’t super exclusive, and it takes some back and worth. Even for an advanced user, the logos aren’t immediately clear, so it’s just easier to show text while hovering so user can click on the intended menu item. This is of benefit for on-boarding new users as well.Thanks for considering, Qualtrics.

Hello everyone, I want to do a study on qualtrics. The study consists of 12 rounds. In the study, 1000 ECU guaranteed payment will be made to the participants for each round. Inline Question Displays Unpublished Changes

We are testing changes to a live survey program that impact the inline survey question text, answer choices, and translations. We have not published the changes to the survey and did not plan to publish them to production until testing was complete. We now see that the unpublished changes have actually been displaying within the inline question in the email sent to live/production recipients. The piped text for the inline question text and answer choices display the unpublished labels that we do not want displayed until the changes have completed the testing phase. This includes changes to survey translations as well that were not published. When the inline question answer choice is clicked, the survey opens and correctly displays the published version of the survey. See the documentation for inline questions here, where I do not see it documented that inline questions display unpublished survey changes: Email Survey Invitations Is this expected behavior? How to calculate birth year based on age from a survey question

Hi Qualtrics team,I have a survey where respondents are directly asked for their age (e.g., via a numeric entry question). I’d like to automatically calculate their year of birth based on the age they provide and store it in an Embedded Data field.For example, if a respondent enters “30” and the current year is 2025, I’d like the survey to store 1995 as their year of birth.Could someone guide me on: How to set up the calculation using Survey Flow and Embedded Data? Whether I need to use JavaScript within the question, or if this can be done directly via Piped Text and math operations in Qualtrics? How to ensure the calculation updates automatically depending on the current year? I think it can be very useful to create gruoups such as Gen Z, Millenials, etc...Thanks in advance for your help!

File Upload - Piped Text (Image)

Hi EveryoneIn a file upload question, I ask a respondent to upload an image.This triggers a workflow email, that I pipe the image URL into.This works, but when clicked, you need to log into Qualtrics to download the image.How can I achieve this, but without logging into Qualtrics, as the recipient of the email does not have Qualtrics access.Thanks :)

Access Denied- Help please!

We are in the middle of a survey build and i am now unable to log into Qualtrics as I keep getting this message:  Access DeniedYou don't have permission to access "http://login.qualtrics.com/login" on this server.Reference #18.22c35068.1757505079.190c3c05https://errors.edgesuite.net/18.22c35068.1757505079.190c3c05 Any ideas what this message means or how we can get access back to finish the build.  Thanks!

Is there a global default for simple tables in results or reports

I am interested in setting a global default setting for creating results or reports such that the default is not a chart, but a simple table. I can do this by selecting each question and setting it up, but my survey has about 100 questions. The AI bot for Qualtrics support leads me to believe there is a way to do this. However, customer support at Qualtrics says this is not possible and that the default will always be a chart. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Best, Karen

JS code to calc data (number of days) difference sometimes blank

Hi All,  (sorry title should have read ‘JS code to calc number of days between two dates but sometimes blank’)I am seeing some intermittent issues in calculating the difference between two dates using some JS code in a question that is shown at the beginning of my survey. Below is a pic of some example data showing the issue:  Both the Contact_DIR_Default_Prophet_Segment_Lastmodified and TodayDate embedded fields are being populated ok but sometimes the Days_Since_Prophet_Updated field is not being calculated. I’m aware that often if JS code fails for one reason or another it can return just a blank / null value and so I’m wondering if there is a way I can capture an error code if it fails to understand why.  Is that possible? I’ve manually tested the dates that didn’t work above (console window of my chrome browser) that didn’t show a figure and they work fine. Below is my setup in order of sequence: Survey flow: TodayDate is populated and Days_Since_Prophet_Update field created   Sur

Anyone exploring agentic for developing studies in Qualtrics?

I manage Qualtrics XM Engage at my company for both EX and CX. We always hear that the learning curve for using Qualtrics is high, and teams often stay in their comfort zone and use MS Forms or other freeware that they’re more comfortable with. We’re looking at solutions for ramping teams up on Qualtrics for self-serving their own surveys and research. I’m wondering if anyone has explored using an AI agent to design Qualtrics surveys based on user needs to ease this learning curve, and potentially even generating a QSF file with the survey already built? Would love to hear what folks have explored and what barriers or learnings they had?

Drag and Drop question without rank in new survey taking experience

Hi, I want to have a drag and drop style questions asking to sort 15 items into 4 buckets. I wanted this interface to make it more visual and fun to encourage responses.I went for Pick Group and Rank question. Navigation is ok but I really don’t want the rank. It is confusing for respondent but what is worse it is blowing up my database to 130 variables I don’t need. I researched this and found suggestion to switch to Matrix question with drag and drop option but this one apparently is not avaibale in new survey taking experience. How would you go about it? Do  you have any ideas on how to tackle this? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.Thanks

Date validation (DD/MM/YYYY) in form field or single line text entry failing

So I have a few conditions I have trying to implement into a form field question (and after much headache, trying with two different single-line text entry question too). Here are the conditions for two fields - Start Date and End Date (or two questions if that be the case):1. End date has to be after the Start date2. Start date has to be on or after 17/04/20263. End date has to be on or before 31/03/2029I have tried implementing Javascript conditions (and disabling all in-built Validation/Response Requirements) to test incorrect entries, and that worked to an extent with a pop-up which comes when I click Next. However, if I click ‘Ok’ in that box, it proceeds and accepts the incorrect entry anyway. Now I am back to square one and feel like keep it simple with the in-build validation condition. The only issue is that if I create a Custom Validation for dates (so Start date >= 17/04/2026 AND End date <= 31/03/2029 in the form field) it seem to only read the DD part as a comparison

First experience with a public report as a replacement for public dashboards

I was a big fan of public dashboards and was disappointed when they were withdrawn but then I saw that reports could be made public and so I tried that out as a replacement for the first time.  Unfortunately, what I found was a very buggy product with many limitations:Broken visualisations created by the import from the old results.  These are easily spotted because the right hand bar shows code for the field names where the page generation failed.  These cannot be resized, they can’t have titles edited and more.  I had to recreate about 10 visualisations to get around this. Removing the title doesn’t remove the space where the title goes. There are two places to set the decimal point, which took me ages to find. One on the settings for the report, which half does a global change and half doesn’t and then the hidden Options tab on a specific field in the right hand bar. Column headers are misaligned. The text of comments cannot be selected and copied.  This appears to be intentional!!

I keep getting this error on the Online mobile app when I try and download the survey. I have gone through the information on mobile optimisation, and not sure what to do. Have changed the theme, to hopefully be more compatible.

Exporting record grid with ticket link

I have a CX ticketing dashboard set up with a record grid where I want to be able to export everything shown in the record grid. The issue is within the dashboard the ticket links works perfectly, but when I export it the formatting gets all weird and it does not export as a clickable or even a c+p text. Here is the excel file when I export from the dashboard widget.

Scan in ID or QR code for ID checkin

Has Qualtrics thought about being able to scan University ID for Check in at all?I think that there is a group that in our University would be looking to be able scan the ID as a way to check in using Qualtrics could be to a thing?  It would be a pantry appointment sign up.

Constant Sum on Side By Side

Hello all,I’m trying to add a constant sum type column into a side-by-side question. I’ve tried using code from various posts on this forum and amending it to my needs, but I’m yet to be successful. Would really appreciate some help! I have a four column side-by-side question. I would like the very bottom row to show the total sum of the far right column. Not all question results and data analysis displayed

I created a survey which I have been collecting responses for, but in the Results and Data & Analysis sections, only data for a few of the survey questions is shown, out of order, and some of them have “unexpected error occurred”. I think maybe this might be happening because I published the survey, had someone fill out a response to test it out, deleted that response, then made some changes before republishing and sending out link for my current respondents. But I’m not sure how to fix this problem and be able to see the data for all of my survey questions.
