28 Day Daily Diary + 2 Intervention Groups | XM Community

For my master’s thesis I plan to do a 28 day daily diary. I will have two conditions. One group every morning will log how much screen time they spent on Instagram the day prior, the other group every morning will log their interactions from the day prior (likes, post, comments, etc.).

  1. This will be a 28 day study with participants all starting at different times. For example a participant may be on day 17 whereas another may be on day 2. So each participant will need a unique ID (email likely) to keep their data organized.
  2. Day 1 participants will complete an initial pre-intervention scale, then randomized into one of two groups (gender will be evenly balanced when sorting). Participants will complete the daily task until day 28 where they will complete a post-intervention scale.
  3. Also, days 7 and 28 will have an additional question regarding the past weeks’ average screen time for both groups.

I’m hoping to find out a way to automate the emails to be sent to the participant each morning. Ideally it will be sequential. So, after day 1 completion the next email will be for day 2 completion, so on until day 28. Again, participants will be starting at all random times, so is there a way that all links automated will be different for each participant?

You could always set up a metadata field that updates each day for each respondent (we pipe it in externally but you could use a workflow to run at a specific time to change the field). Then choose Multiple responses allowed and select that metadata field. Set up your messaging to invite all eligible respondents each day. Each respondent should receive an email each day so long as the metadata field is updated at the beginning of the day (we use a current date field when tryingf to accomplish these types of tasks). A lifecycle survey would make this task very easy to accomplish. Please let me know if you have any questions.
