In Multiple Choice question type, does it allow respondent to add their own choice in the survey instead of adding text entry field in designated answer (for example "other")? That is, the respondent could add their own mc answers on top of the original designed answer in the question.

no it should be in form of other specify to input any extra choice.
You can add multiple other specify boxes.
