Advanced randomization from two different blocks? | XM Community

Hi, I have a survey where following the answer to a first question, participants are sent to one of three different blocks of questions. In each of these block I have both “task questions” and “demographic/distractor questions”, and I use advanced randomization to alternate between choice tasks and demographic/distractors.

The problem with this setup is that for instance the question “How old are you” appears with a different identifier in each block. However since I am asking this in all blocks, ideally I would like to be able to look at the demographics for the whole of the survey, not just by blocks.

Short of operating on the results by creating a new variable post survey, is there any way that I can use to fish in the advanced randomization setup questions from the choice block and the demographics block, so that I can reuse the same questions (with the same code)?

I had hopes that merge and loop might work, but it doesn’t, as I do not need to pipe in a field depending on previous answers, just show alternate questions.

Thanks in advance!
