Hi,
I tried to export a few columns of the survey questionnaire data with recoded value.
However, it only allows export of all columns/fields when exporting with recoded value which can span over 3 hundred columns in Excel . Very laboriously removing those columns/fields that I don't need. Imagine if I need to do it regularly and the mistakes that I made!
But when exporting as Text Choice value then you can selectively export a few columns/fields that you choose.
Any one has better idea?
Looks like a new enhancement suggestion/New product feature to Qualtrics Inc for this product?
Thanks.
Hi YokeSee,
My employer stumbled on the same problem, and it is part of a process we regularly have to do.
Our solution is to export the entire file and then use a script to gather the columns we want for processing/analysing. We use R, but you could also use Python or some other language with a good data analysis library. It's a very simple task to learn and there are heaps of resources out there to help.
I recommend having deliberate column names with a consistent format, it will make it much easier.
Good luck!
Thanks bgooldfed,
I managed to find another way round it. In Data & Analysis, First use column chooser to chose those columns of interest. It will be in "text choice". Then go to each individual column and then highlight the column, a drop down selection appears (sort, hide column, move column, etc) and "View as Numeric Values" is one of the selection. Repeat for each column and then save the template. Export template data and it will be in Numeric values. Tedious but is a work around.
