Drag an Drop - Custom Validation based on Number of Selected Options

Dear Community
I need some help: I have two questions. In the first, subjects state the number of items they want to select, and in the second, subject select items with a pick, group, and rank item.
While I can add a validation with fixed values (i.e. subject must select 10 items), I cannot add a validation with a reference to the previous answer. I tried custom validation, but I cannot access the number of selected items as a piped text.
I appreciate any help, thanks a lot!

Break the block after first question, pipe the answer in an embedded data, use this embedded data in custom validation.
