duplicating blocks dependent on participants answer | XM Community

Hi everybody,

I'm new to Qualtrics and am running into some trouble while designing my survey.

In the survey I have a question and depending on the answer (in numbers) the same block needs to be filled out the same amount of times as the numerical answer of the question. So if the answer is 8, the same block needs to be filled out 8 times.

How do I create this? I found a way in which I add a branch for each answer, so: if the answer is 1, I add 1 block below the branch. If the answer is 2 I add a new branch and put 2 of the same blocks underneath.

The answer of the question ranges from 1 up until 10. This means I have to ad a lot of branches and A LOT of the identical blocks below this branch.

Does anybody know if there is an easier way to do this? I am foremost afraid that all the blocks I have now added will be seen as different questions/blocks once I have the result. So that I have 23 different questions and answers of "what is your age" for example and that these can not be put together.

I really hope someone can help me, lots of thanks in advance!!

Hi @A_vanderpasch ,

You can use loop and merge for the above requirement.

Hope this helps!

Please let me know if the above solution works for your usecase.
