Dynamically update survey question response options using previously entered data

Hi--I have created a survey that the same person completes every time they have a meeting with a client; new clients are regularly added, each with a unique ID, and the survey completer is likely to meet with each client several times. Is there a way to automatically update a dropdown list of client IDs in the survey each time a new client is added?  Thanks for any ideas--my Qualtrics skills are pretty basic and I’m trying to make better use of the possibilities it offers.

One of the way is to use an external database table maintained outside Qualtrics. Use select2 on this table to fetch the client ids in Qualtrics.
