Hi all, we discovered an issue in our survey where embedded data was overriding responses because it was getting saved at the contact versus transaction level. For example, one field was "ChatCall" that came in "Chat". Therefore, if they took the survey again it would always fill in "Chat" regardless of if it was a call.
I'm also noticing this issue when we upload contact lists manually for email distribution - however there is no option to set it at the transaction level that I can find.
Is this possible, and if so how can I create that setting to stop this issue from occurring again?

The embedded data gets overridden when we have same variable names. and i think while you are uploading the list it gets saved in the embedded data instead of transactional data .

I actually figured this out. For some reason, our setting was to save the survey data at the contact level, versus transactional level. So every response was getting tied to the specific contact, and that was overriding and filling in for folks who had multiple surveys. Hopefully this will help someone!

Hi kevinmc - I am seeing some similar behavior in my projects.

 

When you say “our setting was to save the survey data at the contact level, versus transactional level.” What do you mean by this?  It it setting on the site that can be adjusted, or is there some additional syntax you can use to select transaction data over embedded data in the survey flow.
