Exporting data via Excel and mismatches between numeric and choice data

Hi all.

I exported Qualtrics data for both numeric and choice and just realized they have misfigured data. 

For example, if the choice data set showed

Strongly agree: 11 

Agree: 25

Neither agree or disagree: 23

Disagree: 26

Strongly disagree: 17

Then, the numeric data set showed

1: 11

2: 0

3: 25

4: 23

5: 26

6: 17

so that it automatically codes “Agree” to “3” and then creates “6” as “Strongly disagree” when it’s supposed to be “5”. It did not happen to every question, but some of them. For one question even creates “7”, although the choice answer was “Strongly disagree”.  Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

@lemonlime,

Go to the impacted questions, and recode the choices/answers to their appropriate values and republish the survey. You can then download the file(s) again and the values will be corrected.

It was caused by the way choices/answers were edited.
