How do I recode values for statements in matrix tables?

Currently I’m transcribing a list of questions required to assess a psychometric constuct in qualtrics; the easiest way I’ve found so far is to do that through matrix tables. One thing that I’m in dire need of, is the ability to recode the statements as I wrote them (ex.):

How hungry are you → 1

How thirsty are you → 2

etc…

This would allow me to do two very important things: 1. Calculate through qualtrics the psychometric scores by simply using the numerical shortcut given by the question embeded in the block, and (2) I would be able to randomise the display order of the statements to strengthen my statistical predictions.

Thanks for reading!

You can only ’recode’ answers (scale points) in a matrix. For matrix statements, you can change the ‘Question Export Tags’ (also located under ‘Recode Values’).
