Here’s the article we referenced when setting up panel integration. Panel Company Integration (qualtrics.com)
In checking our last panel survey, the panel provided number recodes for the attributes and a mapping file as opposed to listing in the redirect “Hispanic”
The client needs to put the attributes into their survey flow as fields.
Regarding knowing who on your list it’s associated with, you provide the panelist ID or unique identifier in that query string as one of the values you pass through. Any time I’ve been invoiced for studies regardless of panel, we’ve always sent the panel vendor back a file of the IDs to ensure accurate invoicing.
@Emily,
Thank you so much for the information and response. I’m fine with just receiving the text for the attributes because we can always recode them ourselves after if need be. I’m more concerned with the panelist ID or unique identifier. Each of our respondents will be assigned a unique identifier or survey code in the contact list. When that code gets redirected back to us in Qualtrics, would the response only come in with the attributes from the parameter (i.e age, race, ethnicity, disposition, id). I want to also be able to see the other contact list attributes (name, email, phone) without having to do another lookup on the ID that is completing.
Thank you again!
Scott
I may be missing context here. Are you hoping for survey data to be sent back to you from the client as the panel provider?
Yes, sometimes there is embedded data that we would also like to receive from the survey that is being completed. I’m still learning all of this, so I hope my question makes sense. Basically I want to be able to easily match respondents being redirected back to me to our contact list/panel so we can track dispositions and certain embedded data.
Thanks again!
Has the client agreed to pass it back? And where is it stored on your end? Another instance of Qualtrics?
Yes, normally they will supply us with all the data separately through exports, but I was hoping to use redirects to make tracking more seamless for us so we didn’t have to rely on exports.
What system are you typically tracking in?
We normally use Voxco, but we’re hoping to migrate over to Qualtrics in the future which is why I’m trying to figure out how things work here!
Okay, in looking at this further, I don’t think this would work. Essentially you’re asking if your redirect link was a survey link, if it would capture the data. The answer would be no, because no one would be completing the survey and it would rely on the submission to capture all that embedded data, UNLESS your survey was the incentive capture or some other required step (and you might have some attrition). This would also require some setup of the link on the client’s side to pass through ALL the data. Truthfully, this doesn’t sound like a clean approach. Additionally, certain characters may break the redirect link.
I take it you typically manage your clients’ surveys from your survey platform and the client has asked you to survey your panel using their Qualtrics instance? If you aren’t set up with traditional redirect links to pass through and capture an ID and whatever other embedded fields are agreed upon like some of the panel providers (Dynata makes it really seamless), I might recommend the client set up a daily export of all data so you can track and then you can manage your directory and attributes updates after completion of the project. Have them ensure they are capturing the data for overquotas and other terms as well so you can track those on your panel.
Truthfully any other approaches I could recommend to update a different directory or CRM would take work and data integrations that as someone on the client side I wouldn’t personally be willing to do for a vendor for security reasons and due to time constraints. If you have an ongoing relationship as a vendor, is there a possibility of them providing a log-in to their instance so you can manage the surveys you’re administering and download data as needed?
For this case, we are subcontracted to assist with recruitment. The other subcontractors we partner with are responsible for the survey platform. We are basically using our panel to help them recruit respondents. We have the daily export already set up and we’ve been doing the updates after the completion of the project. They were tracking all the completes/terminates/overquotas. I was just hoping there would be a way we could use redirects at least to track who in our panel/contact list was completing so we could better track it in real time rather than relying on the data export. I hope I’m making sense…
Thanks for your input,
Scott
