How to disable workflow edit function for specific user types? | XM Community
Skip to main content

Good morning,
I am writing to ask if anyone knows how I can disable the ability to edit workflows by specific users. My situation is as follows:

  • I want to have an "admin" user who can set up and manage survey workflows.
  • I want to have users who can create surveys, send and share them, but cannot edit workflows created by the admin

How can I do this?

Thanks,

Carlo

You can setup a user type and disable workflows for that particular user type:

@cmagg I’m afraid survey edit permission also comes with workflows access of that survey.
You can still lock that user out from other stand-alone workflows or using some specific kind of workflows.
Check more info here: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/sp-administration/managing-users/user-permissions/

You can refer below article if you want to know how to provide different type of permission to different users.

Good morning,

I have used Qualtrics quite a bit, which is why my question was very specific.
Random links attached don’t add any value to the conversation, unfortunately.

I am sorry to see what @dxconnamnguyen confirms to me: you cannot disable the ability to edit workflows for users who can edit surveys.

This poses a problem, since the configuration of workflows may involve integration with external systems, to which it may be necessary to restrict access.

Yeah you’re right, we might have to separately identify survey editing permissions to external integration permission. You can suggest an idea here at Evolve Evolve: Product Ideas | XM Community (qualtrics.com)
