Is it possible to customize the the "Survey already completed" message in a survey without unique links? | XM Community

Here is my situation:  I work for a university.  The institution needs to administer a survey to each student who applies to graduate as part of their process of applying for their degree.  The survey will be the first step they do.  The degree application itself is within Banner 9 (Ellucian).  So far we have successfully gotten a link to the Qualtrics survey embedded within Banner, so that when they click on “apply to graduate” it takes them to the survey.  We have also embedded the Banner URL for the rest of the application process as a re-direct at the end of the survey so it takes them straight there once they’ve completed the survey.  All good.

My problem is this:  Students may complete the survey and begin the process of applying for graduation, but not complete that process in one session.  They will then need to return later to their student profile in Banner and click on “apply to graduate” again so that they can complete their application, BUT they have already completed the survey.

So the “Survey already completed” message needs to include a link to the Banner URL for the rest of the application process.  However, since the link to the survey isn’t a unique link, that message isn’t normally editably.  Without that link, students will be stuck and unable to access their graduation application.

You can click Survey options→ Post-Survey→ Message for revisiting a completed survey. There, you’ll be able to type in the URL that students should go to after completing their initial survey.

Unfortunately, this only works when respondents have received a unique link via email.  If they have used an anonymous link (which is the case here, since the link is static and is the same for everyone), it does not work.

@KREE You can set it up in Survey option → Sercurity → Prevent Multiple Submissions - Redirect to URL.

Also you could set-up a workflow that send the rest of the process URL to their provided email, just in case.
Let me know if it helps

Nam, Thanks!  Unfortunately, the “click Survey options→ Post-Survey→ Message for revisiting a completed survey” only works when respondents have received a unique link via email.  If they have used an anonymous link (which is the case here, since the link is static and is the same for everyone), it does not work.

However, It would be awesome if I could set up a workflow as you suggested, but I’m not sure how to go about that, since I haven’t used workflow much.  Could you go into more detail?  If possible, maybe step-by-step instructions?

@KREE I think i made it clear in my comment. It’s not post surrey message, It’s preventmultiple subbmision and it’s workfine in anonymous link. It’s is suitable for you because it prevent the student from doing survey again and redirect them right to the next step.

If the next-step link is unique within each student then you can follow this to sent them the link after each surey completion like a checkpoint where they can comeback later. Email Task (qualtrics.com)

Okay, i see what you mean.  Sorry for the confusion!

Unfortunately, for some reason, the version of Qualtrics that I have (which is the university’s account) doesn’t have the ‘Action’ option on Prevent Multiple Submissions, so at the moment, I can’t re-direct them to the necessary URL.  However, this does get me much closer.  I’m guessing I just need to contact the institution’s Qualtrics administrator and upgrade to that version.

Thanks for your help!
