I created a survey. I field-tested survey and found out that I needed to update my survey flow. I applied the changes, then published the survey. I then disseminated the survey link - opening my study for study participants. Participants who had never been exposed to survey link were able to get into survey even though they were not eligible. My settings are all correct. All eligibility screening except this question works. I spoke with a colleague who was equally stumped.

 

What is happening? This is an incredibly important study and I have deeply disappointed with Qualtrics.

Hi @tahoo, with your case I'd recommend reaching out to the Support team, as they are best equipped to handle an issue like this.


Any changes made to the survey will only affect the newer users and not the existing ones, so if any of them had already clicked on your link they would be able to pass through it even though if you had updated some questions or updated link. Instead you might want to close the survey and then reopen it when everything is in order.

And again you might reach out to support by raising a ticket in support/help section.


I realized that the issue was the conditions in the survey flow. I copied this survey from Phase I. The system moved the questions in survey flow from outside Block 1 to before Block 1. I hadn’t noticed. When it did that, the screening become ineffective - no impact on system. I had several conversations with Qualtrics about this.
