Linking two surveys and getting error | XM Community

Hello!
I am trying to link a main survey with a follow up very short survey. When I preview the main survey and get to the point of clicking to go to the short follow-up survey, I get this error: Thank you for your interest in this survey. Unfortunately, you are not authorized to access this survey. I followed the instructions for linking the two surveys and can not figure out where the problem is. I would hugely appreciate any ideas. I did see that someone else had this problem about a year ago and eventually got help from tech support (I contacted them) but reaching out here in case anyone else has had this more recently and figured it out on their own.

@JH84 have you tested it outside of preview?  There are things incompatible to test through the preview option; trying to access a 2nd survey from the 1st one seems like it would be one (albeit not tried this).  It’s might be good to send yourself a link to live survey then delete the response from the data once you tested it.  

 


Hi! Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, I have tested it via a link and get the same error. I've gone back through the linking instructions again and just can’t see where the issue is. Hoping tech support has the answer!

If you haven’t done so already, check the settings in the second survey to make sure there isn’t something preventing access. 

For instance, this is something that might happen if Survey Access is set to Invitation only, or Add a referral website URL is turned on.

@JH84 Have you try accessing the 2nd survey by it’s link. The error screen “Thank you for your interest in this survey. Unfortunately, you are not authorized to access this survey.” might refer to the following information regarding browser compatibility. Additionally, you may need to clear out your browser cookies/data cache or using incognito mode before trying to access the form again.
