Multiple Dashboards with Multiple Surveys or Single Dashboard with Multiple Surveys | XM Community

Hi all,

This is my first post, so apologies for any errors!

My org is gearing up to send out surveys to multiple distribution centers across the country and we are wanting to figure out what is our best plan of action to do this. We currently have a few options and was hoping to get some advice and see if anyone else has gone about doing anything similar:

Option 1: Send out a different survey to each distribution center to where we would then combine all the surveys into 1 dashboard that would allow for an overall analysis and also ability to analyze individual distribution centers via filtering.

Option 2: Send out the same survey to each distribution center and have the same dashboard set up as Option 1. The only issue with this is, if we do not include a question asking for their particular location, will we be able to know their location via metadata?

Along with this plan comes another question: Can we create multiple copies of the same survey and simply rebrand each one depending on the distribution center? This would allow for a more personal feel and hopefully higher response rates.

If anyone has any experience or ideas with this, input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

From survey and data management perspective, it’s always easier to keep it in one survey. You can have an embedded data field that you either include in your contact list or in your URL to identify which distribution center each response belongs to.

You can even have images saved in your library, and in your survey flow load the right image based on the distribution center by introducing branching and assigning the appropriate image URL, and you can pipe in that URL embedded data field into the image being displayed at the top of each page for that personal feel.

Hope this helps.

Hi

I'm not sure if you're planning to distribute the survey through an EX or CX project, but regardless of which one, based on experience with these projects, it's best to have a single survey where the metadata or embedded data is key to configuring the survey.

Through them, you can set up display logic to show specific questions to each distribution center, or simply use the metadata/embedded data to filter within the dashboard.

Overall, for dashboard analysis, it’s much better because it saves time in data mapping and adding data sources to the dashboard. Also, the distribution process is reduced to just one, rather than one for each survey.

I hope this helps!

Also keep in mind that you cannot map more than 60 sources in a dashboard. If you have a lot of distribution centers, that might become an issue and you would have to merge your data before mapping it.

Second option will be more helpful. If you have different projects, you won’t know if something is mapped wrongly until you find it. If you have everything in one project, room for error will be less.

If you opt for second option, there wont be any need to copy the survey I guess.
