"Not applicable" overriding other responses | XM Community

I have a survey question with 8 categories on it, with responses on a “satisfied/dissatisfied” scale, with an option for “not applicable”...and a follow up question for feedback as to why they chose the rating(s) that they did.

However, the “not applicable” is throwing a wrench into it.  If all answers but one are chosen, and one “not applicable” is selected, the follow up question is skipped entirely.  Similarly, if all answers are “not applicable” except one that is actually chosen, again the follow up question is skipped.

There is no logic set up on this question, but I am assuming that I will need to, but am not sure how to make it so that is doesn’t have 7 logic statements for all 8 categories...because that’s the only way I can think of to do this.  And I am hoping there is a much simpler solution that I am just not aware of.

You could carry-forward statements from question 1 that are “Unselected Statements for Scale Point: Not applicable” and add display logic to question 2 to only show if the selected counts for the other scale points are at least 1.

Well...I’m an ID10T.   I didn’t notice that somehow there was a skip logic on this question for “not applicable” to move to the next question.   Took it off and the REAL logic worked just fine.  lol
