Preloading Resources-Audio Files | XM Community

This is a somewhat theoretical question. In PCIbex one can preload audio/video files at the beginning of an experiment. This is really useful if your audio/video files are large and could potentially slow down the individual trials in the experiment if they have to be loaded at the beginning of each trial.

Does Qualtrics have an equivalent feature for preloading media resources? I have been looking and I don’t see one.

@jkesan Do you display the files directly at the start of the survey? Is there any chance to place them at a later point so that they should easily be loaded until this point? e.g., adding some intro text at the start and using the files on next pages.

I am honestly not experienced with such kind of setup, but could it help to upload the files in the library and reference them via the link? Or will this still require to load it again (from the library)?

I am using audio files which means I don’t load and display all of them at the beginning. I am uploading the files to my Qualtrics library and putting links to them in the experiment using HTML. However, they still may be loading too slowly to create the right experience. This is why I was asking if Qualtrics has an equivalent to PCIbex’s check.preloaded() command which is what I would use to solve this issue there.
