For my internship I made a survey, now I want to convert those responses into SPSS but it does not seem to work. I can export it to excel but not to spss, the preview doesn’t seem right and it also lags when I want to go from step 4 to 5 (see screenshot). I can’t click on anything in the first screenshot.
Do the steps you go through look like the screenshots I shared above?
It should produce an SPSS file that can be opened directly in SPSS without any further steps.
I did the steps and opened it in SPSS, the data preview does not seem correct. I am also stuck on this page for hours now without being able to click on anything or restart SPSS.
Was the file created by the steps a .SAV file?
I’m confused why there is a text import wizard if you’re opening a .SAV file in SPSS, as that sounds like you’re trying to open a text or csv file.
I am not sure. I will retry when I am able to do something in SPSS, even when I close it with task manager and reopen it the text import wizard is still there and I am unable to do anything.
You might want to try the old trusted IT advice: turn the computer off and on again
In theory you should be able to download an SPSS .sav file directly from Qualtrics. And then you should be able to open that SPSS .sav file directly in SPSS without any text import wizards.
I hope you can sort it out.
First thing I tried! Even after restarting my computer multiple times, restarting SPSS and force quitting it the text import wizard keeps appearing when I restart SPSS. I’ll try and find a solution as I desperately need to analyze my data.
