randomising groups of questions but keeping the order within each group of questions | XM Community
Skip to main content

Hi,

I’d like to  randomise sets of questions such as showing to participants in random order: “Q1A,1B,1C” on the same page,  “Q2A,2B,2C on the same page”, “Q3A,3B,3C on the same page” etc.

Within each group, I need to display on the same page all three question A B C together, and so far I don’t know how to randomise the order of Q1A, 2A, and 3A without losing out the B and C questions from the page.

Thank you for your help

if you want to randomize the questions eg. 1A, 2A, 3A or 2A, 1A, 3A or 3A,1A, 2A etc. Then you can create 3 different blocks for 3 groups and randomize the questions within the block using block randomizer feature. refer below link for question randomization.

and if you want to randomize the block as well link for first respondent you want to show A group at first position, B at second, and C at third. for second respondent, show B group at first position, C at second, and A at third etc. then refer below link for block randomization.

Thank you very much for your answer. I am concerned that if I do randomise these 3 groups, the 1.B and 1C will no longer appear under 1A on the same page. To be more specific, I have a set of 8 different topics, and each topic has three questions in an important set order. All I want is for the topics to appear for participants in a random order, but they need to contain all three relevant topic questions on the same page for each topic.

Thank you for your support.
