Hello,
Im trying to design a survey for an experiment I'm conducting. I have 4x conditions that all participants will see. I also have two parts to the survey (important for later, but rn I just am focusing on the first part).
So, within the four conditions, I have 4 types of presentation (Pie chart, Bar chart, infographic, figure), each with 4 possible variations (property 1, property 2, property 3, property 4). The properties are attached to the graphs which I will upload as images. In each condition, I want to display one type of graph, with one type of property. After the participant has completed all four conditions, i want them to have seen all types of presentation and all types of property, with none repeated across conditions. Here's what a participant might see:
Condition 1: Pie chart, property 4
Condition 2: Infographic, property 1
Condition 3: Bar chart, property 3
Condition 4: Figure, property 2
Lastly, whatever combination participants see in part one, i want to present them with that same presentation in part 2. I want this combination to be random across participants also.
Is a set up like this possible?
I was playing and it seems as though I can set up the randomisation part easily enough, but I don't know how I would set it up so that each presentation and property appears only once for a given participant. I feel like I will have do some coding, which is fine, but I am a beginner so tips on where to look for help would be appreciated! (in addition to language- what exactly is what I'm aiming for termed as??)
