My question has two parts:

  1. If I use the randomizer for random assignment as per the screenshot below, will it lock participants into one of the blocks, such that when they close the survey and return to it at a later date, will they still see the condition they were sorted into? This study is going to run over two months, so this is critical.

  2. Will the "English Proficiency Post" Block (see screenshot) be visible to everyone regardless of the condition the randomizer placed them in?

  1. As long as they have reached the randomizer step in the flow, they will retain that assignment every time they return using the same unique link (if you are using email or personalized links); anonymous links are less sure to recognize the same user returning. Note that they don't get assigned until they get that far in the survey. (So if if there was content above your randomizer, but if for some reason you still needed your randomizer to assign and "lock" people into a path before they actually get to the randomized content, then you would use the randomizer as the very first thing in the survey, before any content is seen, to set one of three embedded values that correspond with your Condition blocks, and then use branch logic vs the randomizer, to actually present the correct block based on that embedded value).

  2. Yes, based on this flow, everyone sees the English language Proficiency Post block.

Hi Carol,

Thanks for you response. To clarify there is survey content above the randomizer element. That is meant to be seen by everyone and is not randomized. Does that still work given this set up or is branching better?
Also you mentioned unique links. How are those generated?
Thanks,
Avnee
