Rank order drag and drop with images

I'm setting up a rank order question in drag and drop format and using images. It's easy enough to set up, and it works reasonably well on desktop. On the mobile phone view, however, it is not an easy experience for the respondent. There is no actual scroll bar (or if so, it is tiny and virtually invisible on the very edge of the phone screen), so it is very difficult to scroll through the images without accidentally "grabbing" one. Any ideas would be welcome and appreciated!
