Recoding "Other" text into existing values

I can't believe that I'm the only one having this issue, but I can't seem to find this same question anywhere else.
I am analyzing a survey with a large number of other text entries (about 1/4) for a single question. However, most of the responses actually match one of my existing categories. I've gone through the text analysis and applied topics to them, and I know I can run a stats IQ where I combine the prescribed answer set with the open-ended responses matching a specific category/topic I created in text IQ, but is there any way to simply recode the other text responses to match the category they should be in?
This seems like it should be possible, but I'm not seeing a way to do that.
