Hi all,

I'm looking to play participants 30 of 100 possible audio clips. I want participants to hear each audio clip, then move to a new page and answer some questions on that audio clip, then repeat 29 more times, with the same questions for each clip.

I’m not sure if this is the right approach (I’m a Qualtrics newb), but I've got a multiple choice question set up with the 100 potential stimuli, set to randomly display 30 evenly presented, hidden it, then followed it with a loop and merge block based on displayed responses. I've set the HTML for each stimuli to hide the audio controls, and to play the audio file automatically.

At the moment, once the multiple choice page loads, all the audio files play at once over the top of each other. Then the questions set is presented repeatedly. I'd like the flow to be 1. Audio file plays automatically 2. Questions are presented, 3. Next audio file plays automatically 4. Questions are presented etc.

 

Follow-up point, would using javascript on the multiple choice question work to hide the ‘Next’ button for 30 seconds for each audio clip? Ideally I don’t want respondents to be able to advance to answering questions until they’ve listened to the audio. 

Any tips would be much appreciated :)

Ended up solving this. 
All I had to do is create a new ‘listening’ page and pipe the loop and merge field into the text, works like a charm. 

 

The only other minor issue is that while the multiple choice page is hidden, there’s a brief period where all the audio files play after the page loads (have hidden using the usual javascript on load code). I’ve tried using display and skip logic but I need the question to load in the background. If I could preempt the on-load somehow that’d be amazing?
