Respondent Driven Quotation Tool | XM Community

Hello -

I am trying to see whether Qualtrics could be used to build a respondent driven service quotation tool.  The concept is that the link is provided to a respondent, the respondent answers 7 questions, then they are presented with a quotation based on their responses.

The challenge is, the fee chart is quite complex. Say, up to 100 line items. What I envision is a table with conditional display logic, and a calculating Total row at the bottom.  For example, if they answer question 1, option 1, display fee row 5,7,9, but not 6,8,10 and have the total display the sum of 5,7, 9, but not 6,8,10. Problem is, I don’t even know how I would do this (e.g. display row if Q1, option 1 is chosen OR add math to a table).

Another challenge is that it is also variable column wise. For example, the duration of services could be 1-5 years, and that is an option the respondent would input in the initial questionnaire.

I think I would need to do this with JavaScript somehow, but not sure. Are there pros out there that have seen this before and could comment whether they think it would be feasible to try this? The other option is sharing an excel workbook with the respondents, but Qualtrics would be much nicer looking.

Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions as to where to even start. Is this too complex for Qualtrics? I basically need it to work like excel...
